Girls' Rights Featured in Story Workshop and PLAN's New Radio Drama Campaign
21 August 2006 -- Story Workshop and Plan Malawi have embarked on a partnership to protect childrens' rights.
The issue is not new to Story Workshop as it has also worked on child rights with UNICEF, under the UN Human Rights Charter to fight child abuse, through its Tisazunze Ana program.
"Children are the future of our nation," said Marvin Hanke, Story Workshop Executive Director. "This is why the project is very important to us."
Story Workshop will produce a series of radio dramas in both English and Chichewa for Plan Malawi.
The issues addressed in these drama sketches are child rape and abuse, child labor, child trafficking, and education. This project will help advance Story Workshop's aim of creating social change through mass media.
